Business Education

Business Ignitor Starts August 14, 2019

We are pleased to announce the relaunch of our signature Business Ignitor Course. Rebranded as Ignitor X, the entire curriculum has been re-envisioned to meet the present-day needs of entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and small business owners.  Registration is now open.

Classes start on August 14th, 2019 and will be held for six consecutive weeks on Wednesday nights from 6pm-9pm.  In addition to core classes, free one-on-one business consulting is offered to each student through a partnership with the Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Social activities, use of the Sierra Commons coworking facility, and opportunities to learn from successful Ignitor graduates create a fun and impactful learning experience.

Coworking

Sierra Commons is a coworking space for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and remote workers. We offer Nomadic (hot desks) and Resident memberships starting as low as $150 per month with no lease required. Dropping in for the day is also a great option.

Meeting Rooms

We offer several places to hold meetings, classes, webinars, depositions, and outdoor gatherings. Our spaces are perfect for groups of 2-8 people or a classroom that can seat up to 32. The outdoor patio and lawn can be used for celebrations such as launching business or having meetings al fresco.

Free Mentoring

Sierra Commons offers free on-site business mentoring services through our partnership with the Sierra SBDC. Our consultants provide guidance in the areas of marketing, websites, bookkeeping, finance, and more. Services are available to anyone in our local business community.

Our story: Founded in 2009, Sierra Commons is the Sierra Nevada’s first coworking space and the only 501c3 non-profit coworking facility in Nevada County.

Graduates of our Business Ignitor course have gone on to start many successful Nevada County businesses, including restaurants, cottage food businesses, technology startups, travel and outdoor services, creative arts endeavors, farms, and so many more.
